Planner - Every Day
Students will be required to ….
Put ALL electronics away at the start of class •Have your planners everyday. •Write down homework or what you are doing. •Do this during the “Do Now” or warm up •Have teacher sign off or check planner before you can put it away.
What is an Objective (CLO)? •It is the goal for the day (or couple of days) •For example, Day 1 objective is: Students will listen and read in order to describe orally and in writing their understanding of TJ accomplishments and classroom procedures/expectations by using academic and TJ culture language to summarize and predict TJ and individual progress.
So be able to answer EVERY DAY: WHAT are we learning? And WHY are we learning it?
Do Now and Warm ups
•Do Now’s and Warm ups are to be done immediately as class begins. •Specific instructions will be included (for example is it silent individual or discussion group work). •There will be limited time to complete them and they will either review prior day learning or anticipate current day learning.
Independent or Group Work COMPREHENSION, APPLICATION and EXTENDED THINKING gained through:
¡Summarizing information ¡Comparing and Contrasting vocabulary concepts ¡Applying concepts to real life ¡Analyzing and Synthesizing new learning in various ways (orally, in writing, etc.)=Wrap up, Exit Ticket, Quick Quiz=
Checks for understanding during the last few minutes of class. EXAMPLES: ¡3-2-1 Summary sheets
